Regency Culture and Society: Ladies Taking Snuff

Elegantly dressed lady taking snuff

One of my favorite schticks in a Heyer novel is in Regency Buck when Judith is taught how to take snuff.  It sums up the folly and fashion of youth so beautifully!

But what was the general reaction to women taking snuff?  I found this gem and thought I would share.  Although it only represents one viewpoint, it still gives us a good window into snuff taking in the Regency.
