Regency Fashion: Hats and Evening Dress

Appearing in October 1825’s Ackermann’s Repository, these delightful plates show an array of hats and an evening dress. I love the jaunty eyeglass on the sassy looking young lady. The 1820s are really when we start to see the turn of British fashion towards sleeves, waistlines, and trimmings of the Victorian era.

Regency Fashion: Morning and Evening Dresses

This collection of evening and morning dresses appeared in the September 1803 edition of the Lady’s Monthly Museum.  The little details in accessories are my favorite part of this collection!

Regency Fashion: Morning and Evening Dress

These morning and evening dress plates appeared in the July 1803 edition of The Lady’s Monthly Museum.

Regency Fashion: Evening and Carriage Dresses

These gowns and general fashionable observations appeared in the July 1818 edition of Ackermann’s Repository.  Both examples of mourning attire, the heavy embellishments offer some liveliness absent from the somber colors.
